Privacy Policy

Effective August 11, 2026

EGR CoFit helps neighbors in East Grand Rapids, Michigan host and join group fitness sessions. This policy explains what the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The app is operated by Matt Warner.

Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we receive your name and email address. This is used to create and secure your account.

Profile information

You can add a display name, neighborhood, fitness goals, and a profile photo. Your display name, neighborhood, photo, fitness goals, and session counts are visible to other signed-in members — for example, in a session's attendee list or on your member profile. Your email address is never shown to other members.

Session activity

When you host or join a session, that session's details (title, activity, venue, time, attendee list, waitlist) are stored so the app can function. Other signed-in members can see the sessions you host and that you've joined a given session.

Fitness buddies

When you send or accept a buddy request, we store the connection so both members appear on each other's buddy list. You can remove a buddy at any time, which removes the connection for both people.

Push notification tokens

If you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can notify you about sessions — host updates, schedule changes, cancellations, waitlist promotions, buddy requests, and (optionally) newly posted sessions.

Reports

If you report a session or a member, we store the report so we can review it.

What we don't collect

• We do not collect your location.
• We do not access your contacts. The invite feature uses Apple's system contact picker, which returns only the single person you choose.
• We do not use advertising, ad networks, or cross-app tracking.
• We do not use third-party analytics.
• We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.

Calendar access

If you tap "Add to Calendar," the app asks for write-only calendar access to add that one event. The app cannot read your calendar, and no calendar information leaves your device.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Messaging), which processes it on our behalf. You can read Google's privacy commitments at firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Sign-in is handled by Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In when you choose those options.

How long we keep your data

Your account data is kept while your account is active. Sessions naturally expire after their scheduled date. Reports are kept as long as needed for moderation.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app: Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, your hosted sessions, your spot in any joined sessions or waitlists, your buddy connections, and your profile photo. You can also email us and we'll delete your account for you.

Children

EGR CoFit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the effective date above and note the change in the app or on this page.
